The Daily Telegraph asked Nine's long-standing publicist Victoria Buchan about Brooke's future and they got the following icy response: "You don’t read do you??? We have said all today show team will stay with nine and we are not saying any more about the specific shows until we are ready to. We are making no further comment." Touchy subject.
While Georgie Gardner was sent packing with immediate effect, Nine boss Hugh Marks has been pumping Karl's tyres.
“If I looked at Karl now, he’s ready for the game again," he told The Daily Telegraph.
"He’s fired up and really up for the challenge. And whatever you say, he’s a brilliant performer in that format."
It has been reported that Karl's comeback has cost the presenter a cool $1 million as part of a pay cut.
The star sensationally confirmed his return last week, telling the Sydney Morning Herald that the news has "shocked" him more than anyone.
"I am as shocked about this as everyone else," he told the publication.
"It's not something I thought would ever come up again. I thought my time was up, but then, when I was sounded out about it, it got me thinking. It's a big job with enormous pressures and I know only too well some of those pitfalls, but it is also without question the best live TV job in Australia."
He will host the show alongside Allison Langdon.
