Tasmania holds a special significance for Georgia, as it was where she lived and worked as a reporter just before she became the 2016 Bachelorette.
After the tragic death of her mum shortly after her reality TV experience, Georgia, who is orginally from Melbourne, shared an emotional post as she moved back to her hometown.
"Melbourne will always be home but Tassie will always have my heart. Finally making the trip across Bass Strait on the @spiritoftas with all my belongings, memories and emotions! I'll miss you, Homebart," the reporter posted.
In a previous chat with WHO Georgia, who planned to wed Bachelorette winner Lee in Sicily, reavealed it had always been the couple's dream to have a destination wedding.
"Travelling has always been such a huge thing to both us. It’s a huge part of our relationship and it brings us so much joy, and it’s what we spend all our money on," she said.
"We work to be able to travel, and we’ve been to a few destination weddings and they’ve been wonderful. You’re on holidays with your favourite people. It’s all we’d ever spoken about doing, which in hindsight is very silly. That’s what hurts the most, we’ve never actually talked about doing anything else."
The TV journalist also added that she'd started dress shopping when coronavirus restrictions came into place.
"I was actually in a bridal boutique when my sister read out on her phone that Scott Morrison was holding a press conference announcing that all restaurants were shutting down. I thought,'Oh s--t.' And also, 'Um, can you concentrate on me in the beautiful white dress?'” she joked.
Georgia and Lee recently celebrated a significant milestone as they marked four years since they met on the set of The Bachelorette.
Alongside a picture of herself in the white gown she wore for the very first cocktail party on the show, Georgia wrote, "4 years ago and still pinching myself! The first night of the rest of my life," on Instagram.
Lee also shared a loving tribute to his fiancée, with a picture of the couple sharing a romantic kiss.
"4 years on from that fateful night we met. Turns out @georgiealove was happy sashimi!" he wrote alongside several signature puns including "#my4ever", "#4sure and "#un4gettable".
