2. Cuticle Care
The pandemic made us up our hand-washing game, but our constant use of sanitiser means we’re stripping the oils from our skin and nails. To combat this, try applying cuticle oils and serums to strengthen.
Winder says, “Keep cuticles hydrated with cuticle oil, which can be applied all over the nail, and a great way of keeping the whole area nourished. It’s also ideal for making cuticles thinner and more malleable – a great product to apply overnight for moisture to soak in.”
Mavala Cuticle Cream, $21.95 at Ultra Beauty
Revitanail Keratin Strengthening Serum, $20.99 at Chemist Warehouse
3. Glove Love
For daily tasks, such as washing dishes, Winder recommends protecting hands and nails by always wearing gloves when using water or cleaning products. To replenish dry hands, lather on hand cream to lock in extra moisture – Winder suggests to “look for products with aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, shea butter and silk amino acids” to ensure you end up with silky smooth results.
Almond Milk & Honey Calming & Protecting Hand Cream, $10 at The Body Shop
4. Manicure Regularly
Any hairdresser will tell you the key to hair growth is regular trims and the same rule applies to nails, especially if they have been damaged.
“Attend to your nails by keeping them well groomed. Deal with nail wear and tear immediately to prevent any further damage,” says Winder.
