Guy vs Iggy Azalea
Guy Sebastian and Australian rapper Iggy Azalea worked together in 2016 on The X Factor, where they both sat on the judging panel alongside Adam Lambert and Mel B. However, it wasn’t until 2019 – three years later – that Guy had been unimpressed with Iggy on set.
“I didn’t like Iggy, I was pretty open with that. She was awful to me,” he said on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
“She made us all wait for like three hours, and rocks up [on set] and has an attitude,” he added.
Iggy then heard about the interview and went on a Twitter rant, posting a series of enraged, now-deleted, tweets about her experience with Guy on the show.
“I want to talk about how Guy Sebastian is a complete liar, let’s get into it! A thread:” she began.
“How can you be late for a show that was filmed on LIVE television firstly … I would love to know Guy!” she continued.
The rant eventually saw Iggy accuse Guy of having ‘deep-rooted hatred of the ‘type’ of woman’ Iggy is, which she described as ‘flamboyant and outspoken.’
“Anyway, best of luck to you and your fedoras!” she finished up.
Guy touched on the feud again earlier this year, speaking once more on The Kyle and Jackie O show.
“We just didn’t vibe. She didn’t vibe with me. It’s just one of those things,” he explained.
“You can’t get along with everyone.”
‘Cheating’ scandal on The Voice 2020
Guy got into a bit of a tiff with his fellow judges on The Voice during the 2020 season.
When it reaches the end of the blind auditions, the coaches have often already filled up all the spots on their teams, meaning they can’t hit the buzzer for anyone else.
Guy seemed unbothered by this, and turned his chair for Wolf Winters, who blew him away with his rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s Sound of Silence.
The move led to some drama between the coaches, with Guy telling them he ‘couldn’t believe they hadn’t turned’ for Wolf.

Kelly Rowland accused him of cheating, while Delta got up to pull over the executive producer of the show, who asked Guy in hushed tones what had happened.
However, the drama turned out to be orchestrated by the producers.
“I supposedly cheated on the show by pushing my button and getting an extra extra member on my team, and the truth bomb is, a lot of that was quite orchestrated,” he said in October 2020 while appearing on 973.FM’s Robin, Terry & Bob.
“The other coaches didn't know... but for a bit of drama ‘cause we were dealing with COVID and everything else I got it, I understood I had to be a sacrificial lamb and be called a cheat among other things, but it was all staged.”
Chris Sebastian wins The Voice
Some fans found it to be a hard pill to swallow seeing Chris, Guy Sebastian’s younger brother, win the most recent season of The Voice, with some accusing the show of being ‘rigged’.
Chris auditioned with a cover of Labrinth’s Jealous, which had Guy’s fellow judges all turning their chairs anyway. Guy turned his with a knowing smile, but ultimately Chris selected to join Kelly Rowland’s team. The choice saw him through to win the public-voted finale.

“Controversy is just part of being on television. I knew it was going to be a thing on this show, but I don’t care,” Chris told The Sydney Morning Herald, denying he’d received any preferential treatment.
“It's a voted show, it's audited, it couldn't be more above board. More people voted for me than are slamming me, so I'm going to focus on those people."
Guy Sebastian wins Australian Idol
Both an oldie and a goodie, it seems some Australians didn’t quite get over Guy’s very first reality TV appearance where he won Australian Idol in 2003, leaving Shannon Noll to come runner-up. Despite the public vote, many to this day will still claim ‘Nollsy was robbed’.
In 2015, the iconic television moment somehow came back to the front of Australian’s minds, with the phrase “Shannon Noll was robbed of the 2003 Australian Idol title’ began to appear on a number of pages across Facebook.

Guy and Sebastian have remained friends in the 18 years since their final appearance, often ribbing each other online.
When Shannon made it to the final three in the 2018 season of I’m a Celebrity…, Guy sent him a special message.
“Last time I wished you luck, it was on the Idol stage, that didn’t pan out very well. Hopefully, it will pan out better this time. Good luck,” he said.
However, destined for second place, Shannon couldn’t beat out winner Fiona O’Loughlin.
