Although, in keeping with royal tradition, the Queen was the first person to be notified of the royal baby’s birth, along with other members of the royal family such as Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Diana’s siblings, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer were also notified of the news.
Confirming the news of Harry and Meghan's firstborn on Monday afternoon, the Palace wrote: 'Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 0526hrs this morning.
'The baby weighs 7lbs 3oz. The Duke of Sussex was present for the birth.
