Sure to fill the Younger-shaped hole in your heart, Hilary will be running around looking fabulous and fashionable in NYC as she brings her signature bubbly personality to the role. In the words of Lizzie McGuire, this is what dreams are made of.
Not only that, but Kim Cattrall has taken on the role of future Sophie – narrating the series like the late Bob Saget did for the original 'future Ted.'
Some fans were disappointed when Kim declined to return for the TV revival of SATC, but after six seasons and two movies we think she's earned a break from Samantha Jones if she wants one. And at least this way, she'll still be in one NYC-themed reboot.
"So thrilled to be joining the cast," Kim wrote on Instagram after the announcement was made.
"Ahhhh we welcome you with the most excitement," commented Hilary.
With Hilary and Kim in the role of Sophie, the rest of the cast is rounded out with familiar faces in the soon-to-be-loved roles of Sophie’s friends.
There’s Jesse played by Chris Lowell (Promising Young Woman, Private Practice), Valentina played by Francia Raisa (Grown-Ish, Bring It On: All or Nothing), Charlie played by Tom Ainsley (Boots On The Ground), Ellen played by Tien Tran (Candyman), and Sid played by Suraj Sharma (Life of Pi, God Friended Me).
Will anyone hold a candle to Lily Aldrin and Marshall Eriksen? We'll soon see, when the show drops on Aussie screens.
The other good news is that HIMYF has just been picked up for a second season, meaning we'll have a chance to see even more of the gang in the future!
