Basically, Ryan accidentally put on a pair of Tanya's socks, and all hell broke loose.
"He's driving me nuts. Nuts!" Tanya vented to camera, after confronting the former Married At First Sight star for thinking her footwear was his.
She'd put her washed socks by the fire to dry, you see, and Ryan – who couldn't find his socks – thought they might've been his.
You'd think he'd remember whether or not he'd put his socks by the fire to dry, but whatever. They weren't his; he asked around (not Tanya, obvs); nobody claimed them so he figured they must be his. Easy mistake to make, right?
But Tanya wasn't happy.
"The sock situation has blown up but it's nothing to do with the socks, it's the way Ryan went about it," she confided in fellow campmate Erin Barnett.
"It wasn't even like 'I'm sorry', he didn't apologise. It pisses me off that he doesn't even care."
And then came the tears... which Tanya admitted was kind of weird.
"The smallest things in here become crazy... I'm having a cry over socks!"
Meanwhile, Ryan was pretty peeved, too.
"She keeps baiting me and baiting me. I don't know why. I have this feeling she sees me as an alpha-male or something, she's got it in for me," he said in a piece to camera.
The tension got pretty high as Tanya tried to talk to Ryan about the whole sitch, and he wouldn't have a bar of it.
"I don't want to talk. I'm not in here for this," he told her. "I didn't realise the socks were yours, that's fine."
But it wasn't fine, ooooh it was SO not fine. Because then Ryan's camp girlfriend Charlotte Crosby got involved (bless her cotton socks, trying to smooth things out) – and it led the lovebirds to have their first tiff!
"I think Ryan has communication problems, especially with women. I think sometimes he says things without thinking as well and doesn't realise the effect it will have on someone else," she analysed the situation, after he snapped at the Geordie Shore star when she tried to explain why Tanya wanted an apology.
"This whole sock-gate has escalated absolutely everything. It's escalated to Tanya and Ryan, it's escalated me and Ryan! Over a pair of Goddamn socks!"
Well said, girl.
Luckily, Charlotte's lack of filter and her zero-tosses-to-give attitude meant she had another attempt at getting Ryan to talk to Tanya... and this time it worked.
"So do you think that you need to talk to Tanya?" she gently pushed. "I saw you were being OK with each other but you can't still avoid the chat."
And so he did.
"Sorry, it's my fault," he stammered as they stood washing dishes. "I'm so apologetic for that first thing... I didn't want it to come to this."
"Neither did I. It was dumb. We had a fight over frigging socks," said Tanya, also apologising.
"I did it and I'm bloody glad I did now because I feel a hell of a lot better and we are back to being friends," he shared to camera.
Aww, you guys!
Sockgate wasn't the only excitement of the night, with new campmate Cosentino joining the group at the end of the ep.
"I was an outsider at school, got into entertainment to be part of the group, realised I'm an outsider in the entertainment world and... here I am again, going into the jungle as an outsider!" the magician shared.
TBH, we're kind of excited to see how jungle life affects the magician... who admits he's never been camping before.
"I'm completely out of my comfort zone," he shared.
"As an illusionist, it's all about the control and I hope this will teach me and not break me, but teach me how to let go."
