Shot by photographer Mario Sorrenti, Shayk was interviewed by Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci for the complementary interview.
“Mario makes women look so confident, sexy and beautiful. It was such a fun day, and being interviewed by Ricky was so much fun as we are like family,” she said.
On August 18, Shayk took to Instagram to say “a big thank you” to Sorrenti, Tisci and the rest of the GQ team on set.
Earlier this week, Vogue Russia debuted its September issue, which also sees Shayk on the cover.
“It's such a honor to be on the September Vogue cover of my home country,” the supermodel said in a statement. “I shot with Mert and Marcus in LA, so it was truly a dream team and once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“After over 10 years in the industry it's a milestone in my career I will never forget, plus my mom and family can read the entire magazine!”
Already this year, Shayk has covered Vogue Turkey, Vogue Japan, and Vogue Germany, and in the past has also been featured on the front of the publication’s Mexico, Spain and Brazil versions.
