We’re also only just getting over the disaster of the All Stars 4 finale, with the crudely edited double win of Trinity the Tuck and Monet X Change leaving many fans furious.
Every beloved show has a moment that’s so cringe-inducing and jarring that people look back at it as the killer blow that began the program’s steady decline into cancellation. Maybe that’s an overly dramatic way of looking at the All Stars 4 finale – after all, which season ending of Drag Race doesn’t lead to frenzied wailing about alleged injustices and claims the show is now over?
But the extraordinarily blatant post-production work that cobbled together an ending clearly not considered at the time of filming has many fans smelling a rat. And that smell is still lingering as Season 11 incubates. RuPaul’s devoted fans deserve better than the botch-job ending they were served, or that awful Christmas special.
Will I be tuning in for Season 11? You betcha – Drag Race is by far one of the best shows on TV. But the question is, will I be sticking around?
