At the end of August, Isla served as part of the jury for film festival, CinefestOZ and remarked that it was "so wonderful" to support the arts community where she grew up.
The Wedding Crashers actress also received the Screen Legend Award.
"I’m so proud to be recognised in Western Australia. This is where I was raised, this is where I feel at home," she penned on Instagram.
Though she was born in Oman, Isla grew up in Perth before moving to Sydney to star in iconic soap, Home and Away.
She, husband Sacha Baron Cohen and their three children relocated to Australia in a bid to reportedly escape Trump's America.
“I feel like I can be myself in Australia,” Isla told Marie Claire in June.
“I love the people. I love the colours and the sights and the taste and the smells. And there’s something about being home which is just … it feels very magical. I miss it so much when I’m away and I have a very Australian sensibility. Whenever I meet another Aussie, I always think, ‘Oh my gosh, we’re twins!’”
Whilst she doesn't share photos of her kids on social media, Isla often treats fans to photos of her comedian husband.
Isla and Sacha first met in Sydney in 2001 and tied the knot in a private Parisian ceremony in March 2010. Isla even converted to Judaism in order to have a Jewish ceremony.
"It is very important to me to have a beautiful ritual celebrated with my family and friends. And when you are in the public eye, to keep that private and to make it happen without it being really visible is really difficult," she told US magazine Allure ahead of her wedding day.
