Talking to Kyle, she said, "Obviously Lee and I have decided to separate – which you know already Kyle."
"It’s not a decision we took lightly. I think Lee and I have been so lucky that our separation has been extremely amicable."
"I know everyone says that but we’ve remained we really good friends throughout this. We talk on the phone every day. And we still hang out as a family."
"We’re lucky in that respect but it’s not something that happened overnight for us. It’s been a long time. We’ve been separated for a long time. We’re just lucky that we were able to do it in private."
After announcing that they'd been over for about a year, Kyle asked how they hid it.
"I don’t know it’s a miracle."
"We wanted to keep it private for as long as possible. A separation is never easy. I feel lucky that we got through that period privately. Our priority is always Kitty – we want her to be a part of a loving family."
Jackie's on-air partner admitted he cried over the news.
"He cried yesterday," Kitty's mum shared, adding, "Look I’ve always been upfront about our marriage. We’ve been together for 18 years. We had a beautiful marriage and we’ve had great memories. No marriage is perfect."
"I wanted to acknowledge and I’m sure the people listening have gone through this."
"I have so much respect for Lee. As a family we’re really good. We go out every week together."
The couple married in 2003, after they met at a bar in Sydney, while the English photographer was on a backpacking trip through Australia.
