Speaking on her and Kyle Sandilands' breakfast radio show, the 45-year-old mum-of-one said that she's sticking to her married name for the sake of her nine-year-old daughter, Kitty, whom she shares with Lee.
"You didn't keep the first husband's name," Kyle mused, referring to Phil O'Neil, who Jackie married when she was just 19-years-old.
"Cause I didn't have a child. Usually when you have a child you just keep that name," Jackie responded, adding that "it's quite common."
When Kyle noted that it was "very old-fashioned to keep the man's name" and suggested that Jackie change Kitty's surname as well, however, the mum-of-one simply laughed.
"That'll go down well! I'll just do it on the sly one weekend!" she joked, adding that she's never going back to her maiden name.
"After 18 years together, we have made the decision to separate. We do so amicably, sharing many incredible memories and remaining best friends," the statement read.
"Our focus for this next chapter is of course our wonderful daughter and continuing to provide her love and happiness, together."
In a candid chat with her radio co-host, the mum-of-one spoke candidly about the split on the air, admitting that it wasn't a decision they took lightly.
Jackie and Lee announced their separation in 2018.

"It’s not something that happened overnight for us," she explained at the time. "It’s been a long time. We’ve been separated for a long time. We’re just lucky that we were able to do it in private."
"I feel lucky that we got through that period privately. Our priority is always Kitty – we want her to be a part of a loving family."
Jackie added that she'd always been upfront about her and Lee's marriage.
"We’ve been together for 18 years. We had a beautiful marriage and we’ve had great memories. No marriage is perfect."
The mum and daughter duo are now living in Sydney's Woollahra.

In June, it was reported that Jackie had purchased a new home in Sydney's Woollahra for a reported $11 million.
The Masked Singer panellist shared a sneak look inside her and Kitty's new pad as they unpacked an assortment of boxes.
"Making our new house a home," Jackie captioned a boomerang of herself and her daughter back in September.
