The two “Fave” teams first cooked against each other in the 2013 Season four Grand Final where Dan and Steph defeated this year's winners.
However, this year, it was their time to shine and a night of sweet redemption, wowing judges Colin Fassnidge, Pete Evans and Manu Feilde with how much they'd "grown and matured".
"Winning My Kitchen Rules, getting that title is everything. It's what we want so badly," Elle said before they were crowned the winners!
"The $100,000 prize money is a bonus. It's the title. It's about proving and backing each other that we can do this. I love that [Jake] has the courage to be who he wants to be and I wouldn't do this with anyone else."
While the competition was tense and the comradery was strong, Dan and Steph— who scored 27 out of the 30 from the judges— said they're proud of the winning duo.
"I’m so happy for Jake and Elle because we know how life changing winning is and I can’t wait to see you guys grow," said Steph who used their MKR winnings in 2013 to fund their wildly popular restaurant.
Jake and Elle had a rocky start to the Rivals season, coming in second lowest on the leaderboard after the Instant Restaurant round. But they came back with a bang during Restaurant Takeovers and even survived the added pressure of switching to Colin’s group part way through.
After making it to the Top four, the siblings cooked their way to the highest Instant Restaurant score in MKR history, cementing their place in the Grand Final.
