The news site reports that Hewitt will play the role of Maddie, a sister of firefighter Evan “Buck” Buckley (Oliver Stark), who is starting her life over as a 9-1-1 operator.
The actress took to Instagram to announce the exciting new role.
"My new tv bro @oliverstarkk! Super excited bro. Let’s do this. @foxupfronts @911onfox@followmewearefamily," she wrote alongside co-star Oliver Stark.
This is Hewitt’s return to Fox as she once starred on Party of Five and its spin-off Time of Your Life. In the past she also made TV appearances on Ghost Whisperer, The Client List and, most recently, Criminal Minds.
