Cold Chisel frontman Jimmy Barnes has provided fans with an update on his health following his recent emergency open heart surgery.
Taking to Instagram, Jimmy's wife Jane shared a series of updates following the 67-year-old's surgery, revealing that he has since left ICU and has regained some mobility.
"Day 3 post op [and] we had a few walks up and down the hallway. 250m I'd say. A tough and fragile day but here's a big brave smile for us. Keep up the good work Jimmy," Jane wrote.

The singer shared in late November that he had been hospitalised and receiving treatment after suffering from bacterial pneumonia, however, the infection had since spread to his heart.
"[The bacteria has] infected an otherwise healthy valve that was replaced some years ago due to a congenital defect, so I'll be getting open heart surgery over the next few hours to clear out this infection and put in a clean valve," Jimmy wrote to Instagram.
Despite the severity of his initial diagnosis, Jimmy previously shared that he was expected to make a full recovery ahead of his upcoming performances. With his condition sadly not improving over the following weeks, Jimmy's future on-stage appearances are currently in limbo, with his next performance slated for January 5, 2024.
"Just a few weeks ago, I was the fittest I've been in decades! Anyway, as you can hopefully appreciate, this has all happened very suddenly so it's going to take a few days to figure out what's going to be doable with my upcoming shows," he wrote.
"I'm really sorry for all the inconvenience caused, but please be patient while my team works hard to figure things out. A new plan will be announced as soon as possible."

News of Jimmy's recent hospitalisation comes almost one year after the Australian rock icon previously revealed that he would be undergoing hip replacement surgery after suffering from increased pain.
"After jumping off PAs and stomping around stages for nearly 50 years, it's finally caught up with me. I've had niggling back and hip issues for years, but things suddenly got a lot worse over the last few weeks and I'm now in constant and severe pain," he wrote to Instagram.
"As everybody knows, it's against my religion to blow out gigs, but the doctors tell me I need an operation as soon as possible and it will really limit my movement for a few months. As much as it kills me to inconvenience everyone, I have to get this fixed so I can jump around on stage for another 50 years."

After undergoing surgery in December 2022, Jimmy has been candid with fans throughout his rehabilitation journey.
Following three months of active rehabilitation, Jimmy took to Twitter in February 2023 to share the exciting news that he had been permitted to perform again.
"We've got a 10 out of 10, and an all-clear to get on the next plane. Land of Smiles here we come. The kids will look after the veggies, roses, and geese. Our next phase of physio will be in a pool by the Gulf of Siam. Luckiest man in the world right now," he wrote, following up the next day with a snap of himself and wife Jane at the airport.
The singer kept fans updated regularly throughout his recovery.
