Have mercy! John Stamos is about to become a father at 54.
“We have the same morals and the same values, that all clicked nicely. So we said, ‘Oh, well, maybe we should have a family,’ ” Stamos said.
Stamos says the couple, who became engaged in October this year, decided to have a child before they got married because 'he's old'.
When the actor questioned why McHugh suggested the couple have a baby before their wedding she jokingly responded, “because you’re old.”
Stamos proposed to his model partner, 31, at their favourite place, Disneyland.
The dream proposal included the actor making a short film with snippets of romantic moments from Pixar and Disney films, ending with a scene from The Little Mermaid, which encouraged Stamos to “just ask the girl.”
Even though it's his first time being a father, Stamos has had lots of practice with kids, especially in his role as Uncle Jessie on Full House and the series' Netflix spin-off, Fuller House.
“I’ve done every schtick you can do with a baby on TV … all the bits and jokes and diaper gags," he told PEOPLE. "I’ll probably just do all that stuff.”
