Karl— who shares three children with his ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn— and his beautiful wife of 17 months, Jasmine Yarbrough, welcomed their first child together on May 1st.
Hours after their bub arrived, Karl released a statement to his close friend and colleague, Richard Wilkins, who told their Today viewers: "Harper and Jasmine are doing well and Dad had a great night's sleep. I am in awe. Harper is absolutely perfect."
Although they remained tight-lipped about their pregnancy, the news presenter told 9 Honey in February that he and the Mara & Mine shoe designer were "really excited" to be starting a family of their own.
"Jasmine looks so beautiful and is handling pregnancy in such an incredible way. Our whole family can't wait to meet our little princess."
During an interview on The Kyle And Jackie O Show alongside Today co-host Allison Langdon, Karl also revealed he was glad the controversy surrounding their marriage and his private life had finally subsided. While he didn't go into specifics, it's possible he was alluding to the backlash he copped after splitting from his former wife.
"She's going really great, she's terrific," he said of Jasmine.
"She's glowing and we are happy, very happy. We are glad some of the heat had died down from the whole thing and we can finally lead a normal life as we did before."
The loved up couple tied the knot in front of their closest friends and family in San José del Cabo, Mexico in December 2018.
“I’m just excited to share this with all the people I care most about in the world. It’s so rare to have everyone who’s important in your life in the same place at the same time," she told WHO at the time.
