The event – which helps theBritish royal familyherald theQueen Elizabeth'sofficial birthdaycelebrations on Saturday - is held every year ahead of theannual TroopingtheColour Parade(which will take place this year on June 8) and is celebrated with a military parade with some 750 soldiers and a dazzling fireworks display.
This year, 37-year-old Kate even participated in the ceremony by taking this salute, this means thattheDuchess of Cambridgeacknowledged the salute given by the troops.
Wearing a smart cream coat by one of her favourite designers,CatherineWalker & Co, the royal accessorised the look with her Irish Guards gold shamrock brooch.

The Duchess marked the occasion by pairing her Alexander McQueen gown and Lover’s Knot tiara with her royal order sash – the first time she has been seen wearing the garment since being appointed a member of the Royal Victorian order.
