Katy Perry has been forced to cancel a headline performance in China due to a family emergency.
"Regretfully, I must cancel my appearance on the Alibaba Double 11 due to a family emergency," the 32-year-old wrote in a statement on Chinese website Weibo.
"I am very sorry to disappoint my fans and look forward to seeing you in China soon."
The singer was to star alongside band OneRepublic and NBA player Kobey Bryant for Singles Day, a major online shopping event in China.
Perry was named global ambassador for the event in October.
There are no details on what the family emergency is as yet.
David Beckham will be taking Perry's place at the event, E! reports.
