Kelly Clarkson hit the 2017 American Music Awards red carpet with two very special dates: her daughters Savannah, 16, and River Rose, 3.
“It’s a girls’ night,” Clarkson, 35, told E! News ahead of the awards show. “They look beautiful. They’re colour-coordinated … They’re beautiful, and they love this kind of stuff — more than their mum!”
The “Love So Soft” singer is set to open the AMAs with Pink and will also perform a cut from her latest album, Meaning of Life. In addition to promoting the new LP, Clarkson will join the season 14 cast of The Voice — then hit the road for a world tour in 2018.
The American Idol alum opened up about balancing her career with an equally busy family life. She and husband Brandon Blackstock have four kids: River and 19-month-old son Remington, as well as Savannah and son Seth, 10, from Blackstock’s first marriage.
“Any working mom’s struggle—any working parents struggle—to balance it all. We do our best,” she said, quipping: “They’ll probably end up in therapy at some point.”
The 2017 American Music Awards broadcast live from the Staples Center in L.A. Sunday at 8 p.m.
