The shock and looks of disgust regarding the comments from KAK were immediately obvious as fellow panellists Natarsha Belling and Joe Hildebrand recoiled.
Fellow presenter Angela Bishop tried to defend a visibly uncomfortable Antoinette.
“And she looks unbelievable!” Angela declared.
Not one to back down, KAK took another swipe: “And she’s going to be thirsty.”
As she tried to imply that her colleague was desperate or trying too hard.
Viewers were quick to condemn Kerri-Anne, taking to Twitter to vent their anger.
“Why is Kerri-Anne Kennerley slut shaming her colleague here on @Studio10au ? @antoinette_news deserves an apology Kerri-Anne needs to finally be put in the bin where she belongs,” Clementine Ford tweeted.
Another viewer wrote: “I don’t understand why Kerri-Anne is still on television? Is this the best commentators Australia has to offer? I hope not. Natarsha Belling’s body language and near immediate ‘moving along now’ speaks volumes.”
“It’s time for #KAK to take a permanent break from TV, period,” a third person wrote.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Kerri-Anne has finally reached out to Antoinette and offered an apology.
In a statement to the publication, Channel 10 confirmed that KAK reached out to Antoinette Lattouf after their awkward exchange upset viewers.
“Kerri-Anne called Antoinette over the weekend and apologised for her comment. She reiterated her comment was not intended to cause offence. They had a respectful conversation and Antoinette accepted her apology,” a Network 10 spokesperson said.
