After suffering severe injuries from a serious car accident this morning, a source close to Kevin Hart told The Blast that the actor may need back surgery.
The outlet was told that while the Jumanji star, who is currently hospitalised in L.A., is undergoing a series of tests to determine the best course of treatment, doctors are optimistic that he will make a full recovery.
This morning, WHO reported that the 40-year-old and his driver Jared S. Black were severely injured at 1:45 a.m. on Sunday after the comedian's electric blue 1970 Plymouth Barracuda veered off the Mulholland Highway in Calabasas, crashed through a wooden fence and plunged down a gully.
The actor's wife, Eniko Parrish and their personal trainer Rebecca Broxterman were also in the car at the time.

According to Radar Online, Jared "immediately lost control of the vehicle, and the Plymouth left the road and rolled over down the northern embankment. Two of the three occupants were trapped in the vehicle. The remaining occupant and owner of the vehicle left the scene to his nearby residence to get medical attention.”
Kevin— who was the first out of the vehicle— and Jared sustained "major back injuries" and were rushed to Northridge Hospital Medical Cente. His wife suffered minor injuries and Rebecca "suffered only complaint of pain" and declined treatment.
According to police, “the driver was located in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and determined not to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision."
Kevin purchased the hot-rod vehicle as a 40th birthday gift to himself. Hours before the accident, he posted a video of himself sitting in the car as someone in the background yelled at him, claiming that he had been burning too much rubber.
“I added some more muscle to the family for my 40th….welcome home ‘Menace’ #MuscleCarLover," he captioned the video.
