The editorial, which was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, was conceptualized by Kim’s husband Kanye West. The clothes worn by Kim, 36, and Khloé, 32, are all from West’s Yeezy Season 3 collection, which he debuted in February at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The 22-page spread, which also features stars like model Amina Blue and rapper Travis Scott, focuses on Calabasas, the suburb of Los Angeles that is home to the Kardashian-Jenner family and several other celebrities. The images were all shot in Calabasas, at the Wests’ under-construction home designed by Axel Vervoordt.
“This is New Abu Dhabi,” reads the magazine’s photo caption for one of the images. “Places like #Calabasas, an exurban sprawl located between Hollywood and Malibu, become the unlikely stage for vast ENERGY EXPERIMENTS.
"Calabasas is the Bethlehem of reality television and the location of @kanyewest’s Yeezy studio, an industrial space with Intel as its neighbour. The studio is a testing site for a new type of uniform, a search for the base unit of clothing.”
