Any woman over the age of 12 knows the following two beauty rules. First and foremost - sunscreen is a must, particularly here in Australia where the rays are harsh and relentless. Secondly, one's makeup must always be removed before bed.
I regularly appear on television to talk all things beauty and style. That's fun of course, but there's an extra bonus that I absolutely love. You see, when you're booked for television you generally get a full face of beautifully-applied makeup beforehand courtesy of the network's professional makeup team.
And I have to tell you, there's been plenty of occasions when later that day I have removed all of my makeup EXCEPT for my eyes because hey - they look amazing and I want them to stay that way as long as is humanly possible. So, um, major beauty rule broken.
And, as it turns out, Kimmy K supports me in that. Why? Because she does the same - only much worse!
During an episode of the US chat show Busy Tonight, Kim revealed that she often wears a full face of makeup to sleep. In fact, if it looks good Kim might wear that same makeup for a good 48 hours.
I know it's terrible - but, hey, high five for practicality. And it is practicality that sees Kim doing this.
"All the time," Kardashian West told host Busy Phillips when asked if she's ever slept with makeup on. "If I can't have glam the next day, I'll sleep like perfectly and maybe I'll redo my skin [like foundation]. But I'll try to salvage it for two days."
So I'm kind of relieved to discover it's not just me who is pulling this stunt and regularly too. But here's the deal - it's not recommended.
Makeup can block pores and cause irritation to skin. Plus, if you're wearing a full face of makeup you're not applying your regular serum and moisturisers so you're missing out there too. All in all, a habit for superstars only.
