Kim has long been vocal about her hatred of fast fashion brands. Earlier this year the reality star blasted Fashion Nova on social media after the company copied one of her looks.
"It’s devastating to see these fashion companies rip off designs that have taken the blood, sweat and tears of true designers who have put their all into their own original ideas,' Kim penned in a scathing Instagram post. "I’ve watched these companies profit off my husband’s work for years and now that it’s also affecting designers who have been so generous to give me access to their beautiful works, I can no longer sit silent.
She added: "This is a way to get people to sign up for their mailing list and make people believe there is some kind of relationship between me and this fashion site. There is not. "My relationships with designers are very important to me. It's taken me over a decade to build them and I have a huge amount of respect for the amount of work that they put into bringing their ideas to life. I often plan for weeks, sometimes months, and even a year in advance, and I’m grateful for every fashion moment those designers and their dresses have helped me create."
It's likely Kim's studies helped her win the cast. Earlier this year the beauty mogul told Vogue she's begun a four-year apprenticeship with a law firm in San Francisco, with the goal of taking the bar in 2022. California, as well as three other U.S. states, currently offer another path (for those who didn't finish college) to passing the bar by “reading the law,” or apprenticing with a practising lawyer or judge.
“I had to think long and hard about this,” she says of her decision, explaining that she eventually decided to embark on the journey after “seeing a really good result” when she successfully petitioned President Donald Trump to commute the life sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, a nonviolent drug offender.
“I never in a million years thought we would get to the point of getting laws passed,” she says. “That was really a turning point for me.”
