Kylie Minogue wins legal battle against Kylie Jenner over their name trademark
According to the Daily Mail, Kylie Minogue has won the legal war against Kylie Jenner to trademark the stars’ shared Christian name.
The website maintains that Jenner’s 2014 application to trademark the name “Kylie” for business purposes was rejected by the United States’ Patent and Trademark Office.
Minogue's lawyers argued that 19-year-old Jenner is just “a secondary reality television personality,” therefore she is undeserving of the domination of "Kylie." Meanwhile, they stated Minogue is an “internationally-renowned performing artist, humanitarian and breast cancer activist known to the world simply as Kylie”.
The Mirror UK has also reported that the 48-year-old Australian singer has owned the domain name kylie.com since August 21, 1996 - a year before Jenner was born.
