Beauty rules come and go and with alarming speed. One minute it’s cool to match your lipstick to your nail polish to your shoes to your handbag and the next minute – you’d rather die than be seen wearing matching anything!
This has been the case for some time with complementary colours seen as too conservative and worse – made you look like you were trying too hard.
We became accustomed to the idea that complementary anything was wrong and learned that colours that clashed were the way to go.
We got good at it even – and then Beyoncé had to go and do something mind-blowing.

Queen Bey just posted a pic to her instagram account in which she MATCHED her manicure to her eyeshadow.
And just like that beauty rules chopped and changed all over again.
Beyoncé, the queen of, well, everything, not only matched her nails to her eyes she also wore a dusty pink blush on her beautifully-chiselled cheeks and a shiny lipstick in the exact same hue.
Damn it – she even matched her jacket (pink) with her makeup. And if that wasn’t enough she sported incredible emerald jewels that teamed perfectly with her jacket cuffs and zipper too.
And you know what that means … we will all be doing the same from this moment forward.
