Back when she starred on Married At First Sight, KC Osborne was labelled as superficial and materialistic by her co-stars and even her on-screen husband.
In an exclusive chat with Who, the former reality star has slammed her critics and explained why her cosmetic procedures don’t define her or anyone else who chooses to undergo them.
KC, 31, has admitted to spending around $40,000 on cosmetic and beauty procedures including two boob jobs, Botox, fillers, lips and dental veneers.
Last month, she joined forces with Dental Boutique to get her perfect “broader” smile and confessed she nitpicked at her teeth after seeing them on screen.
“The thing is I don’t go over with my fillers or Botox – I’ve had my lips done like three times and I haven’t had them filled in over a year, I naturally have big lips but I’ve just added in,” she tells Who.
“I just think with these procedures it’s such a personal thing and it never defines anyone – it’s such a personal choice. I am open about talking about it because it doesn’t bother me what people think.”
KC adds that she struggled with her on-screen husband Drew Brauer’s comments about her plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures.
“To be honest it was a little mean to say things like ‘I don’t my wife looking like Michael Jackson’,” KC admits.
“That’s what I was trying to express on the show – I’m a girly girl but inside what I promote and what I stand for is so much deeper than getting some fillers or some boobs.”
Though their romantic relationship didn’t work out, KC and Drew have maintained a strong friendship following their time on Married At First Sight and Drew was one of the first to message KC after her break up with Michael Goonan.
The ratings giant is now airing in the US where KC lived for almost 10 years, but the dance teacher and influencer says nothing will come back to haunt her.
KC adds that though she never fell for Drew, it was still hard for her to get over him.
“I think I was sad for a few weeks after the show because even though we never said the L word, I did like him and have strong feelings for him,” she adds.
“I wasn’t in love with Drew so I can’t really say my heart was broken but I was sad. You’re with that person every day, pretty much 24/7 so you form a bond and get to know them. I think your mind plays little tricks – you’re kind of forced to like them.”
