For the past few seasons, it’s been about oversized shapes, the ‘half tuck’ or the crisscross method when styling your shirts. Just a simple tweak of how you button or tuck them can totally refresh your look without the need to shop for anything new.

Whether they’re cropped, denim, lightweight or patterned, any shirt can easily be given a new life with these small styling switch-ups to not only extend its life, but make getting ready that little bit easier! But how can you button yours in a way that is a little more 2024? Here are 3 fresh styling tricks to try.

Pop Culture

Experiment with wearing your collar standing to attention this season. Whether it be over a blazer lapel or just for some added drama, crisp cotton or denim styles in contrasting colours over your outwear work best.

Open All Hours

After dark, make undone your new done-up as seen at Tom Ford’s and Stella McCartney’s fashion shows. This look is simple and effective with silk or satin but if you’re unsure about taking the plunge, add a vest or crop underneath.

Top Down

Just doing up one or two buttons is the way to wear an oversized shirt this season. Not only does it give a floatier effect over pants, but it also shows off your waist a little more. Simply add a tank or crop if showing a little skin isn’t your thing. Additionally, this is a great trick to try when layering with other pieces like a blazer or knitted vest.
