The yoga pant is back baby.
What was once a wardrobe staple for the It Girls of the early aughts — often paired with Victoria’s Secret singlets, oversized sunglasses, and Juicy Couture track tops — the yoga pant took a brief hiatus from the limelight. However, Hollywood’s favourite style icons have confirmed it is officially back en vogue.
Yoga pants have been spotted on our favourite It Girls like Hailey Bieber, Lori Harvey, and Sofia Richie as of late and recently Bella Hadid made her triumphant return to NYC’s street style scene sporting a pair with a tight matching zip-up jacket (very Meredith Blake of her).
In fact, the yoga pant renaissance began in the midst of COVID lockdowns as they offered an elevated take on the classic athleisure look without requiring too much effort and have since become a classic once more.
What is the difference between yoga pants and leggings?
Yoga pants are often on the looser side and have a flared bottom to them, they’re often referred to as flared leggings and some may even have a slit up the front, whilst leggings are usually form-fitting.
The great thing about the new and improved yoga pants we see today is they’ve become vastly more versatile, making their way into everyday wardrobes and styled with leather jackets or bombers in between Pilates and yoga classes, or creating the ultimate model-off-duty look à la Miss Bella Hadid.
