Hailed as the most highly anticipated opening of the year, the sensitively reimagined hotel, which first opened in 1887 and has been closed since February 2017, officially welcomed its first guests and visitors on August 1, heralding an exciting new chapter in the world famous hotel’s heritage and history.

New York-based designer Alexandra Champalimaud, who has worked her magic on The Dorchester in London and Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles, was given the monumental task of reimagining the interiors, a process which began in February 2017.

Whilst retaining its legendary colonial grandeur and staying faithful to its roots, Champalimaud’s team have added reimagined social spaces as well as new dining concepts, new suites and lifestyle experiences.

The dining space is just as inspiring as the luxe interiors with chef Anne-Sophie Pic, of the three-Michelin star Maison Pic in Valence, behind the signature 46-seat restaurant La Dame de Pic.

“There are few hotels in the world whose names have become virtually synonymous with the cities in which they are located – and none more so than the Raffles Hotel in Singapore,” says Raffles Singapore general manager, Christian Westbeld.
