Australian actress and mother, Melanie Vallejo, has been announced as the newest local face for L’Oréal Paris Elvive. The former Winners & Losers star will represent the multinational haircare brand’s latest collection Extraordinary Oil, which combines expert, tailor-made care with specific formulas and powerful actives to visibly transform dry and damaged hair.
On the new partnership, Senior Brand Manager Emma Graham from L’Oréal said, "Melanie perfectly embodies the L’Oréal Paris brand ethos. She is a strong, confident woman who empowers others around her, making her the perfect person to represent the Elvive brand, and we are thrilled to have her join the L’Oréal Paris family."
After giving birth to her first child in December 2016, Vallejo has been based in Auckland, New Zealand, spending time with her husband, Matthew Kingston and his family.
"Being a mother is the most important role I’ve ever played," she reveals.
"Sonny is up at six and runs around all day – he has so much energy. I love to spend as much time with him as possible, which means I don’t have the luxury to go to the hairdresser for hours. With the L’Oréal Paris Elvive collection, I know that my hair is receiving not only the scientific expertise that the brand is known for, but also the richest nutrients specifically formulated to look after my hair, whatever state it is in.
"It’s one less thing to worry about when you’re running around after a two-year-old," she adds.
The complete Elvive collection is made up of four collections including Colour-Protect, Total Repair 5, Fibralogy, Extraordinary Clay, Arginine Resist, Smooth Intense and (Melanie's favourite) Extraordinary Oil.
Targeting dry hair, the Extraordinary Oil range is enriched with six floral oil extracts to nourish depleted hair without weighing it down. The oils give the hair nutrition and shine and protect the surface of the hair follicle at the same time, its creators say. And Melanie is a genuine fan.
The Extraordinary Oil Rich Treatment is my go-to product when my hair needs some TLC," she says.
"I use it before shampooing as an intense treatment, before blow-drying for heat protection or when styling as a finishing touch. I highly recommend it as a staple in every woman’s beauty cupboard."
The Adelaide-born actress joins a stellar line-up of existing L’Oréal Paris global ambassadors including Camila Cabello and Doutzen Kroes.
