The night-club frequenter joined Love Island to meet a girl outside of the party industry and to settle down.
"I’m 28 so I’m probably not like one of the younger ones who are looking for fame," says Sam.
"I am looking for a relationship 100 per cent. I haven’t dated for seven years, I want to find someone I can travel with, do my DJ gigs with and start the next chapter."
Sam grew up in Gippsland in a town called Garfield.
On meeting people in his industry:
"You are like the release for everyone. People go out on a Friday or Saturday night and you are there to entertainment then, which we do as performers.
"People never ask you on a date or ask you for a coffee, they are just there out in the moment to have a good time."
Sam says his appearance on Love Island may come as a shock to the people he knows.
"There are going to be a lot of people who are going to be ‘what the hell is he doing on there,’ from school, my hometown and the clubs," he says.
However, he is looking forward to meeting everyone.
In terms of his dating history, Sam says he has had three serious relationships but has been single for seven years.
He is looking for a girl who is assertive and his celebrity crush is Sommer Ray.
