His denial comes less than a week after Christie shared a 17-minute takedown video to her YouTube channel, proving Maurice dumped her exactly two weeks before entering the villa.
"As you'd be able to see from all of my socials, for the last several months I have been dating a guy called Maurice," she said in the video titled "My Boyfriend Dumped Me For A Reality TV Show". "I was so open with my relationship and I talk about it on my YouTube channel. We'd do posts together, we would literally jump on lives. We did break it off - but according to this guy, he's been single for the last six months".
To make matters even worse, Maurice told TV Week a few weeks ago that he'd been single for "like a year... and eight months."
20 months is a far cry from 6.
According to Christie, Maurice lied about auditioning for the show and instead told her that he was set to star in a Love Island ad because he desperately needed the money (he's an aspiring actor).
"It's just the ad," he told her, "don't worry."
"Apparently you have to apply for the Love Island position months in advance,” she added.
That means that he literally APPLIED WHILE HE WAS DATING HER!
One week after the ad hit our screens, Maurice decided to call time on their relationship and days later, he headed to Fiji to film season two of the hit dating series.
If you feel like this whole situation seems weirdly familiar that's because it is!
This scandal is almost identical to that of Grant Crapp on last year's season. As we know, Grant won last season, walking away with the top prize and a gorgeous girlfriend— Tayla Damir. While the pair seemed loved up and ready to start a life together, it turned out Grant had a girlfriend on the outside the entire time.
To make matters even worse, Maurice told TV Week before jetting off to Fiji that he could never do what Grant did to Tayla.
