"My biggest fear… it certainly wasn't taking my clothes off, like you get comfortable with that as the day goes on," Cam told 9Entertainment of his nerves ahead of the revealing shoot.
"You're just strolling around with nothing, just thinking this is normal. But that takes a bit of time to work into.
"If we didn't have to do this for the reason that we did, then we wouldn't, but unfortunately we do, for mental health and for people unfortunately taking their own lives. It was mainly getting it right for that," Cam continued.
"This is not about me getting my rig out — like here I am, here we are nude, and there's 12 good-looking blokes or whatever," he said.
"There's an underlining point that I would love people to see so much more. Mental health is such a big part of it, and it's about baring all. As men, we need to be a lot more vulnerable than we are, and that's the reason why the stats are so alarming, because men are not being vulnerable, they're not baring their soul, they're not baring their everything, and this is what's happening.
"That's what this calendar is about, men baring all — everything."
The 2020 Manscapes calendar by photographer John Bortolin is available now, with proceeds going towards Movember.
