"Not because of seeing an ex-relationship on screen, but the fact that this person has allowed me to be in such emotional pain that when I watch it back, I'm back to that place of emotional pain then and there when I'm seeing it."
While Cathy has vowed to keep future relationships private, the blonde reality star said she was very happy with her new man.
"Yeah, so my love life... I can just say that I'm happy. I mean am I in a relationship? Am I single? My shoulders are shrugging right now, but I've got a smile on my face — that's all I can say.
"I don't want to get my hopes up. I'm in a happy place, but I don't want to jinx anything for myself."
Earlier this month, Cathy opened up to Yahoo Lifestyle about her mystery new man, revealing that the pair had moved in together during the coronavirus lockdown.
"I feel like I've hit the jackpot," she said, adding her boyfriend is a "private person" who's "not famous or anything". "Life has been good. I'm staying with my partner, so I've been working from his house and it's been great being in isolation with someone who's pretty hot."
The loved-up duo made their relationship official a few months ago, with Cathy revealing they started seeing each other post-filming for MAFS.
"He hadn't known that I was on the show so it just sort of happened really organically after a couple of chats and meet-ups and it just kind of fell into place," the 26-year-old said.
