Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant were the darlings of this year's season of the hit reality TV series, after falling in love and getting engaged – for real – on screen.
But as their real-life wedding neared, Jules found herself at the centre of controversy after her former best friend and Married At First Sight co-star, Melissa Lucarelli revealed last month that she had been unexpectedly dumped as a bridesmaid and cut from the guest list via text message.
Jules had stayed quiet on the accusations, but as she and Cam shared the details in the lead-up to their big day on A Current Affair, the vivacious reality star addressed the feud.
Channel Nine
"How hard has that been for youwhen you're just trying to focusand really trying to enjoy..." Jules was asked while aboard a yacht, during a fun-filled cruise around Sydney harbour for her hen's do.
Hesitant to answer, a downcast Jules thought a second before replying:
"Do you know what? All that matters is my nearest and dearest are here right now."
As if to suggest that there's more to the story behind Mel's accusations, Jules also pointed out that her other MAFS mate, Heidi Latcham, was absent from the party – but remained in the bridal party.
"Heidi isn't here, she's my bridesmaid. [I] love that woman."
And of course, Heidi was there on the big day to help send Jules into married life in style.
"I've had so many messages and people keep asking me what the story is. So yes, it is true, Jules dumped me as a bridesmaid," a tearful Mel began. "As for why, I'm honestly not sure... she kept changing her reasons and none of them made sense."
She continued: "It really all just came out of the blue and I didn't see it coming at all. Of course, you're allowed to change your mind about who you want as a bridesmaid, but I just feel like the way it was done was really cold and rather hurtful."
