He said: 'For me, I'm normally outside of the drama, I've got my popcorn there and I'm kind of watching it all unfold.
'To [find myself] thrust into the middle of it was definitely a different feeling. Martha and I made the decision where, I guess, Dan and Jess are both adults and they can make their own decisions, we left it up to them and didn't say anything.'
When radio host Chrissie Swan pointed out that Martha was facing a backlash on social media for enabling Jessika's behaviour, Michael said she was doing 'fine'.
'She's strong we are dealing with it together as well,' he added. 'I'm copping my flack with people as well, it is what it is. We've got to stand by our decisions.'
