Anticipation built, then, at lights out time, we saw Mishel alone in bed.
“Steve, are you gonna come to bed?” she asked.
Steve, dressed in a black two-piece of singlet and shorts, then walked into the room slowly and seductively with a toy in his hand. A kangaroo teddy bear that is.
“Roo boy has to sleep with me or I can’t sleep,” he told Mishel, before asking, “Am I gonna fit?”
The next morning…
Mishel turned to Steve and asked, “Did you like it?”
“Yeah, it was fine. It was fine, darling,” replied Steve. “No major issues. It was a bit strange, obviously. We’ll just take each day as it comes and get used to it, I guess.”
Then the detail came…
“You fell asleep straight away!” revealed Mishel.
“Within three minutes he fell asleep. There has been no increase in intimacy,” she told the camera.
“You were leaning on me and stuff and I had my arm around you. I’m being, sort of, accommodating.
“I thought the fact I had my arm around her and we were cuddling in bed, she fell asleep on my chest and I was holding her hand was quite a good step forward. I think she expected a little bit more from it,” Steve said, sounding like he has, in fact, lived under a rock his whole life.
“His idea of sleeping in the same bed was so different to what mine was. I thought that we might touch,” Mishel told the camera.
“He was like, no, that’s a few more steps forward. I’m not ready for that. I wanted a romantic kiss.
“That would’ve been amazing.”
