Fans were first suspicious that Susie was pregnant in early December when the NRL player uploaded a sweet photo of himself, Susie and Susie's five-year-old daughter Baby from a previous relationship.
In the snap, the trio smiled in front of their Christmas tree with the caption: "That Xmas feeling," Todd penned, adding: "I love you 3."
The couple confirmed their pregnancy news via Instagram on Christmas Day 2020 by sharing the same two photos - one of them kissing and another of Susie's bump on full display - along with a sweet, festive poem.
"Our hearts are full, Christmas will be sweet. Our family is growing by one heart & two feet," the caption read.
"Baby boy Carney due March 2021. Merry Christmas from our family to yours!"
In her last Instagram post for 2020, Susie shared another snap of herself cradling her burgeoning belly and confessed: "I couldn’t be more proud of the beautiful little life I am creating inside of me. My love for this baby, my love for my daughter Baby and my love for my amazing and supportive partner @todd_carney06 couldn’t be any greater. I am so, so lucky."
On New Year's Eve, the happy news just kept on coming!
In a gender reveal video shared to Instagram, Todd and Susie revealed that they were having a son and to top it off, the end of the video showed the dad-to-be get down on one knee and ask his girlfriend to marry him.
"We all have dreams and in 2020 all mine have come true. 2021 my greatest gift Is going to happen with a little todd on the way and I’ll marry my best friend," Todd captioned the clip.
Susie and Todd met through social media in January 2019 and went public with their romance that same year, when Susie's MAFS episodes were still airing.
Despite numerous break-ups and make-ups, Susie and Todd reconciled in December 2019.
In a chat with New Idea in September 2019, Todd made it clear that he can't wait to start a family with Susie.
“If Susie and I are ready to commit to it, I’d definitely love to have kids,” he revealed at the time, adding that he loves being a stepdad to Baby.
“She has her own father, but while Baby’s in my care, I treat her as if she’s my own,” he explained.
“It definitely makes you realise you have other people to care for when you put yourself in [the] position [of being a parent].”
After she was matched with Billy Vincent on the sixth season of MAFS, Susie was labelled a villain for the way she treated her on-screen spouse.
It was Todd who helped her “deal with the negative publicity” she received while she was on the show.
“While the show was on, it was a difficult time for Susie, but it did make us stronger, and since then everything’s been going really well,” Todd previously explained.
