‘It’s empowering to teach young women about their bodies, encourage them to celebrate them AND to question people who tell them not to!
‘My goal with this look was to normalize menstruation by looking sick’ning even if I was on my period!
‘Instead, i decided to wear the beautiful quilted dress you saw in the episode because it is not my show, it’s Ru’s. But because of Ru, I have my very own platform to speak for myself and show you all my interpretation! ❤️ my Period Gown is by @theladyhyde.’
Manila’s decision to talk outside of school could be considered brave, with some queens who have talked critically about the show or RuPaul in the past allegedly ending up on the outer.
Brooklyn queen Pearl claims she was banned from the show after disapprovingly relating an alleged conversation she had with the host on set, in which RuPaul supposedly cut short a stream of compliments by saying, ‘Nothing you say matters unless that camera is rolling.’
RuPaul has never publicly addressed the claim.
However, acid-tongued Gia Gunn was cast on this season of All Stars after a string of previous critical comments.
With Manila a firm favourite of both the fans, and, apparently, RuPaul, it remains to be seen what comes next for the star.
