Sorry, Kylie Jenner, Margot Robbie is about to be a Barbie girl in a Barbie world. And we are LIVING for it!
Yesterday, it was announced that star of 'Mary Queen of Scots' is set to play the iconic doll in a live-action feature, which is yet to have a title.
Naturally, Toymaker Mattel and Warner Bros are teaming up to produce the movie. The production company recently announced that the Oscar-nominated star will not only play the lead role but will also co-produce the movie!
"Margot is the ideal producer and actress to bring Barbie to life on screen in a fresh and relevant way for today's audiences," said Warner Bro's Toby Emmerich.
"Playing with Barbie promotes confidence, curiosity and communication throughout a child's journey to self-discovery," the Australian actress said, explaining that the film aims to inspire young girls.
"I'm so honoured to take on this role and produce a film that I believe will have a tremendously positive impact on children and audiences worldwide," she continued.
Last year, news broke that comedian Amy Schumer was tipped to play the doll however she later announced that she had to drop out of the project.
"I'm bummed, but look forward to seeing Barbie on the big screen," the 'Trainwreck' star said at the time.
Robbie's co-stars are yet to be announced, but by the sounds of it,
