"Hate to be that guy but Hayley screams trans," one person commented under the first season seven MAFS clip we were gifted.
"MAFS surprise shock. Is Hayley Vernon a transgender bride?" another added.
"Perhaps Hayley's past relationships have failed because she insists on looking like she could be transgender."
"Not trying to be smart, but was Hayley born a man and changed to a woman? She looks very masculine," another concluded.
Following this, a satirical website published an article questioning her gender with a headline which read: "MAFS 2020 shock twist could be that Hayley Vernon is a transgender bride".
Hayley later hit back in a now-deleted Instagram story, bashing the publication for perpetuating these "trans" rumours.
"That right I have a penis - f**k I'm in tears with laughter," she captioned the Instagram story which included a screenshot of the article.
While we're yet to see Hayley's true colours, the 2020 bride has been extremely open and honest about her tumultuous past, even admitting she abused drugs for most of her life.
"I battled things most women my age could only imagine... homelessness, mental abuse, physical abuse," the 32-year-old said in on A Current Affair.
The finance broker went on to say she spent her twenties battling with addiction, telling Daily Mail Australia last week that she "only used meth and cannabis".
Throughout her difficult upbringing and the tough years of dependancy that followed, the bubbly brunette's friends have remained by her side.
"Hayley’s been through a lot," said her best friend Bek— who Hayley described in a recent episode as "the mum I haven't got in my life at the moment".
"To see where she’s come, it’s a really proud moment for me. She deserves [to be happy]."
Hayley's father also said he couldn't be prouder of his little girl, either.
