Josh promised Cathy that he’d only told his mother positive things about their relationship since the last time they met.
'
'OK. This is bad. Thrown under the bus again. Straight away,' Cathy said to producers, tears welling up.
That's when Josh's mum swooped in. 'When I was in Sydney last. It was a little bit, I dunno. It wasn’t going good and I could tell that you were really upset,' she said to her son, before turning her attention to Cathy.
'So that made me a little bit fiery down there toward you, Cath. Because you [Josh] were in isolation… I think that’s what changed the dynamic of that relationship.
'I think evidently, the three days where you isolated him, that’s where it came from.'
Cathy had zero support, and her husband let his mother continue to slam his new bride. 'I have never felt so alone in this experiment,' Cathy said.
Josh insisted that he was just 'being honest.'
Josh's mum finished the awkward exchange with, 'I'm proud of you' to Josh, who instantly looks like a child, not the burly, motorbike-riding tradie he claims to be.
