After avoiding the spotlight since filming wrapped, Married At First Sight star Ines Basic has finally opened up about her personal struggles.
In a candid interview with New Idea, the controversial reality contestant admitted she "lost her appetite" and stopped eating due to the unprecedented amount of backlash she copped when the series hit our screens.

At her lowest point, her weight even plummeted to below 50 kilograms.
"I was on my deathbed, at one stage. I've always been a size six in my life. I dropped down to smaller than a [size] four. I was really scared," she said. "I thought if I lose one more kilogram, I might die."
She continued: "I had some really horrible death threats... It was terrifying! For a girl who's barely weighing in at 50kg, that is so scary."
While many have feared for her health in recent months, Ines—
who's since found love after enduring an ill-fated marriage to Bronson Norrish— says we needn't worry as she's in a much better place now.
"Only in the past month have I started to get back to my grounded self. It's only going to get better," she admitted. “Now I’m at the same size I was when I started filming. I’m trying to get a bit leaner, so I go to F45 three times a week.”
After the series aired, Ines opened up about to WHO her experience on MAFS revealing that her nasty portrayal on the show was not only false but took a serious toll on her mental health.
“When I watched the edit, I was honestly mentally traumatised from what I saw,” Ines told WHO . “I couldn’t believe it. It was literally sickening. None of my scenes were the truth [about] anything that actually happened.”
“I was prescribed Valium after the main filming and was in therapy. I was struggling with the whole Sam thing and how foul I was treated during filming,” she says. “My producer worked me until I didn’t know who I was anymore, [and] I almost got assaulted on set on multiple occasions.”
