While that did happen, Dunne, 32, and Stedman’s relationship soon petered out.
“I now believe Cam wasn’t genuine from the start,” says Harvey. “I was really angry for a long time that he wasted my time on the show. I spent six months auditioning, I left my sons to take part and he wasted my only chance to be paired with a partner by three experts.”
Despite the issues she had to face during her time on the show, Harvey says some good has come out of it.
“Getting to know some of the girls has been the best, they’ve really had my back,” she says. “Booka [Nile] is staying at my house at the moment. I have absolutely no regrets about taking part.”
Since leaving the experiment, Harvey has also found love in real life. While it’s early days, Harvey says her relationship with crane rigger Jesse is going really well.
“My parents are crane drivers and I met him through them. We’re taking it slowly but he’s a great guy and I’m in a really good place right now.”
However, there is a strange link to her TV ex.
“Not long after we met, I told Jesse I’d be going on MAFS and it turns out he had worked with Cam, who’s also a crane rigger on a mine site in WA. It’s a small world, right?”
Harvey says she’s looking forward to watching the upcoming reunion special, which will signify the end of the experiment for all participants because it will really cause jaws to drop.
“Let’s just say, I went into that expecting to learn a few home truths – about Cam and Coco – and what I discovered actually blew my mind,” says Harvey. “I’ve watched every single season of MAFS and this is the most shocking and explosive final reunion I’ve ever seen. You won’t believe what you’re going to see!”
Beck: 'Jake wasn't genuine'
After a rocky romance during her time on the experiment, bride Beck Zemek, 27, who is set to face some huge revelations at the reunion, dishes on her time on the show and marriage to Jake Edwards, 32.
How were you feeling going into the final dinner party and reunion?
It had been a while since I’d seen everyone, so I was excited to catch up as I made some great friendships on the show. The way I approached it is to be unfiltered and honest.
How were you feeling about Jake at this stage of the experiment?
I left no stone unturned with Jake. I felt he wasn’t a genuine person, even outside the experiment, and never seemed to own his mistakes. I just couldn’t see myself being with someone who wasn’t authentic.
I liked Jake as a person, but love is love and you can’t fake it – even if it does let the country down.
How would you describe the mood at the end of the experiment?
I think everyone learned that the faster the drama came out [at the dinner party and reunion], the faster we got to go home. It was very fiery, everyone was talking over one another and everyone was fired up about something with someone. It’s very heated.
Do you have any regrets about taking part or how you’ve come across?
The worst thing about taking part is not being able to be myself and not connecting with Jake the way I would have liked to.
I wouldn’t recommend doing MAFS to anyone unless they understand that there is a lot you’ll never see on screen and you may get backlash from your story being shown out of context. If I got to change anything, I would edit the show in a more factual light.
Best friends forever
Despite the on-screen drama, the bonds forged between some of the brides has been a real positive during this season of MAFS.
“My friendship with Alana and Booka is the best thing to come out of my time on the show,” says Zemek. “Those girls have changed my life for the better in every single way.”
