To say Steve was cocky, was an understatement.
'I am 48, nearly 49,' Mishel said turning to Steve.
'Who?' he replied, pretending to be confused.
'Me.'
'Yeah, of course you are,' Steve insisted. 'I have no issues about it. Not one issue about it at all.'
But Mishel wasn't buying it. 'Watching the video, he was expecting someone much younger than me,' she told viewers, disappointed.
Steve said that’s the reason he came on Married At First Sight, to be matched with a woman his own age, because being with younger birds 'clearly wasn't working' for him.
But Mishel wasn't hard at hearing, nor were viewers!
'That’s not what you said,' she told him.
Steve pretended to be confused. 'Didn’t I?'
Mishel rewound the tape, and played the part where Steve says he's looking for a woman in her 'mid to late thirties.'
'I didn’t come here saying I wanted to be matched with a certain age,' he insisted, despite say exactly that.
'That’s what it sounded like,' she snapped, but Steve needed to have the last word. 'This was done a long time ago.'
Turning to viewers, Mishel said, 'Deflecting is not cool. Admit it, accept it, own it. It explains a lot.'
