The couple, who met and fell in love on The Bachelor in 2017, hadn't decided on a name when they welcomed their little girl in June.
Matty revealed on his podcastThe Babble with Nat Bass and Matty J, that this was partly because he thought they were having a boy, and so hadn't chosen any girls names ahead of her arrival.
"I saw [she was a girl] and I was shocked. I had about five boys names banked up, and I didn't have any girls names," the 32-year-old reality TV star said.

Thankfully, Laura, 33, had an inspired idea for a name for their daughter.
"Laura just instinctively said: 'Let's call her Marlie,'" Matty revealed.
He added that it was a spontaneous decision, recalling that if they had discussed it before, he "didn't listen".
"Mae comes from [Laura's] grandma, so we decided to hyphenate it. Marlie-Mae," he proudly added.
