But Megan explained that some initial “teething issues” had grown into “quite big" problems, which had since become “ongoing and ceaseless”.
“It’s gotten to a point where these issues are quite insurmountable and after a lot of consideration I am making the call, the very hard decision to close my online store,” the mother of two explained in a candid video on her Instagram account.
Megan admitted she “trusted the wrong people” when outsourcing several important tasks.
“Why am I closing it? When you are a very small basic start up and a lot of things aren’t done in house, you have to outsource a lot of tasks. In short, I trusted the wrong people. And boy, did I trust the wrong people with some pretty major elements on the business.”
She went on to say that she had “never seen or experienced such a level of unprofessionalism, lack of integrity, lack of competence” before, throughout her career.
“It created such big issues that I just had to stop,” she explained.
On the official Mindful Life Instagram page, Megan further explained that she had decided to close her business “after a lot of thought and consideration and due to circumstances well out of my control.”
“It will be business as usual for the next couple of weeks. We will be in touch in the coming days regarding an official close date but we will continue to operate and sell our beautiful products for your children while stocks last.
“Much love to you all and thank you so much for your support over the past 18 months.”
Hundreds of Megan’s fans praised the star for her honesty and shared in her disappointment.
“Wow thank you so much for your rawness and honestly. Running a small business is beyond challenging and comes with so many hurdles. We commend any start up or business owner and we’re sure the something even greater that lies ahead. Sending our love 💕,” one fan commented.
Another said: “It’s so bloody hard. You created something really special all on your own. Sending lots of love gf xx”
The news comes just weeks since Megan laid her brother Jason Gale to rest, after his body was found in bushland south-east of Perth, the Gale family’s hometown.
“It's been probably the hardest couple of months of my life and I honestly have had no desire to post anything,” Megan revealed earlier this month in a candid Instagram video, following the funeral.
“What I've been through in recent times certainly wasn't the most positive of experiences to document and I most certainly couldn't fathom the thought of turning my circumstances into content. That just seemed so very wrong."
She added: "To everyone who has messaged me in regards to my brother and asked if I'm ok, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am fine. Not amazing but doing ok. And so thankful for so much."
Megan is engaged to former AFL and Survivor star Shaun Hampson and the couple have two children together, River, six, and Rosie, three.
