Speaking on SBS' Insight on Tuesday night, Megan revealed her heavily publicised relationship with Tiffany was a “dark period” of her life.
“It was really rough. Initially there was a lot of support but a lot of the other cast members on the show didn't believe that we were actually together,” she said.
“The public didn't believe we were together. It was an interesting thing having so many people commenting on your sexuality or trying to decide for you what your sexuality was.
“So a lot of people would say, "OK, she's lesbian then. Why did she go on The Bachelor to compete for a man if she's gay?"
The 32-year-old said she was even accused of “pretending” to be bisexual to gain attention.
“It was horrible going out in public. Public perception was that if you're bisexual, you're hypersexual and quite promiscuous,” she said.
Megan and Tiffany were faced with sexually aggressive comments from men in bars, with the pair often getting propositioned for threesomes.
“Just grabbing you for photos constantly. It was really rough and really rough on our relationship as well,” she said.
Megan and Tiffany eventually moved to Bali together to escape the media firestorm, but she said the criticism followed them overseas.
“We ended up moving to a different country to try and get away from people's opinions. And it just followed on with us,” she said.
“It was so much pressure. And the relationship didn't survive. I feel like it didn't have a chance to be honest.”
Megan admitted that appearing alongside Tiffany on the cover of men’s magazine Maxim in 2017 may not have been the best idea.
“We weren't sure how to deal with the attention and looking back I don't think that we necessarily dealt with it the right way. But what is the right way?” she said.
“We were approached to be on the cover and we thought it was a fun thing to do. And maybe there would be controversy around that but that would create a conversation which it did.
“But, you know, I'm not 100% sure about a lot of my decisions, especially with the Maxim cover.”
Megan also revealed she lost friends during her short-lived romance with Tiffany.
Megan later went on to share a rocky romance with on-again-off-again boyfriend Jake Ellis after falling for one another on the first season of Bachelor In Paradise.
However, the pair called it quits for good in December last year.
Megan has since found love with Keith Newman, who she introduced to her 160,000 Instagram followers in January.
